Strain gauges for PCB testing

PCB Testing Strain Gauges

Zemic’s PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Testing strain gauges are specially designed to take precise measurements on even the smallest PCBs, and in very specific areas.

Strain gauges are used to measure the maximum mechanical deformation of PCBs. This results in a specification provided by the PCB manufacturer that indicates the amount of pressure a PCB can withstand during installation.

By using these strain gauges, you can test the force applied to a PCB during assembly processes. For example, when clicking a PCB into a larger circuit or assembly, a strain gauge can measure the tension applied to ensure it remains within the allowable range.

Due to the small strain gauge electrical grids, Zemic PCB Testing Strain Gauges can be applied to nearly all PCB types for verification tests.

All Zemic strain gauges are temperature and creep compensated, optimized for their specific applications, and produced in a state-of-the-art facility with rigorous selection standards. They provide stable and reliable measurements.

At Zemic we supply many variants of these type of strain gauges. For example, they differ from each other in the following characteristics:

- Grid Material; Constantan foil or Karma foil.
- Type of backing material; Modified phenolic, Special Polyimide, Polyimide film, etc.
- Rated Resistance; varies from 120 Ohm till 350 Ohm
- Length of the sensitivity grid in mm
- Length and material of the wires

The product page includes a data sheet with all technical specifications, detailing the various strain gauges for PCB testing we offer.

To order your strain gauge(s), you can use our strain gauge selector. You can fill in the desired specifications, such as material and dimensions. When we receive the form, we will contact you and assist you further.
