Zemic Europe visits Markiezaat College

Zemic Europe is very enthusiastic to be able to help students with their projects. It’s always inspiring to see what kind of innovations they come up with. Last week Zemic Europe was invited to attend an open evening at the Markiezaat College, where students present their graduation projects. We are proud to provide components and advice for one of these projects.

Some time ago a student from the ‘Markiezaat college in Bergen op Zoom’ contacted us. She is studying mechanical engineering and was working on a machine for corn, to remove the corn from the cob.

She wanted to weigh the corn and therefore wanted to use load cells. Zemic could help her selecting the most appropriate loadcell; a L6D. During the project we could also advise on how to build in the load cell in the machine and how to calibrate it. Zemic also advised on the electronics. A Top-Sensor T2 weight transmitter is used, to read the weight from the display.

Corn machine

The Markiezaat college organizes an open evening every year. The graduating students may show and present their projects to the public. Last week our colleagues Gertjan Vriends and Corné van Gool where there and they enjoyed seeing all the projects.

The corn machine, with the components of Zemic, was working very well and the students received a good assessment for this graduation project. It was nice to see that Zemic loadcells were used in more of the applications shown.

Zemic Europe works more often with universities and schools, because we want to share our knowledge and experience and invest in the future!
