What are the differences and similarities between indicators and transmitters?
Weighing indicators are commonly found in the classic weighing industry. Most models are available in desk stand and panel mount versions. In general you could state that indicators indicate the weight value in grammes, kilogrammes, tons, pounds and newton on a graphic or led display.
Can force sensors be used for predictive maintenance?
Predictive maintenance is being developed in many market sectors
Thursday 3rd of October 2019, Maarten Kleemans and Corné van Gool from Zemic Europe visited JADS (Jheronimus Academy of Data Science). JADS and Co-host MEUNGO organised the event CBM and Predictive Maintenance. When you can predict an unplanned downtime for your application by steering on anomalies, costs will reduce and performances will be optimized. The market is changing from reactive service to proactive service.
What are strain gauges made of and how to select the right thermal expansion coefficient?
ZEMIC is one of the leading manufacturers of strain gauges. With over 50 years of experience in the development and production of strain gauges, ZEMIC produces a high quality and wide variation of strain gauges. With professional and reliable technology ZEMIC is able to produce an annual output of over 50 million stable, reliable and first-class quality strain gauges which are divided in more than a dozen series and over a thousand different combinations. There are several characteristics which can be specified for every strain gauge which make these combinations. A few of these characteristics will be shown and explained in the blog.
New: ATEX Junction Boxes
Zemic offers a full range of junction boxes to connect loadcells in parallel. Recently Zemic Europe has expanded its range of products with the introduction of ATEX junction boxes. Zemic has exhibited the new junction boxes at the Sensor + Test Exhibition in Nurnberg.
The new feature for these junction boxes is that they are ATEX certified, therefore approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The internal screw terminals make the installation of the junction boxes very easy.
What does Ingress Protection mean and how does Zemic Europe communicate this?
Ingress Protection (IP) is the degree of protection against the intrusion of dust and water. The degree of protection can be found on the datasheet of every load cell model. All Zemic Europe models are completely protected against dust ingress and are therefore classified as IP6X.
